Rupert vs. Belem – A primer

Once again, I had somebody online ask why there are apparently two authors joined at the hip on this site.

So…in the interests of full disclosure, here are profiles of the two gentlemen in question.

Rupert Ramsgate is a learning author, who aspires to write superior fantasy-tinged fiction with erotic content. He is trying hard to avoid obvious genre classification, even if that means (as it does) that he will self-publish his works. This is mainly because, like music, he regards the only useful classification of writing as good or bad, and genre is a restrictive concept, mostly enforced by marketers.

He is working on two book series, as time allows, because he has a day job. Extracts from one of his book series can be read here.

Belem Knight is joined at the head with Rupert Ramsgate. This does result in occasional arguments and other forms of discussion. Belem is a rapid writer of highly erotic (sometimes pornographic)  short stories and novellas. He started expanding to novellas after Rupert told him that not every writer has to have the attention span of a gnat, and if his writing is that good, why should the masses not get more of it in a single dose?

When thinking of a situation, Belem thinks carnal. When thinking of a situation, Rupert thinks personal. Rupert’s characters are typical humans – quirky, defective, searching, happy, unhappy. Belem’s characters can be anything from criminalistic rogues to paragons of pornographic carnal perfection. If you read a Belem Knight story and think “none of that could ever possibly have happened”, well, in some situations you might be right.

Rupert let Belem out of captivity some time ago because he realized that Belem would drive him nuts without his own writing outlet. So Belem is writing, and his samples are available here.

So there you have it. One serious aspiring writer, and one purveyor of total filth. Two authors for the price of one.
